Mrs. Wilson's Class

Mrs. Wilson's class had so much fun on their color hunt! They won this special art lesson by selling the most shirts for Huskypalooza. Can you believe they sold 38 shirts!?! Way to go!

End of the Year Art Project - Volunteers Needed

Dear Parents,

We are teaming up with Oldham County Schools Artist in Residence, Leah Bradley, for an exciting end of the year art unit on upcycling.  Upcycling is taking an item that is no longer needed or wanted and giving it new life as something that is either useful or creative.  We need your help in two ways – 1) gathering materials for our projects and/or 2) volunteering in the art room during your child’s schedule art class.

Below is a list of materials that will be needed for our projects.  Please start collecting and sending them in to the art room until we let you know that we have enough for each student.
-tin cans (i.e. cans from soup, veggies, fruit, etc. – please thoroughly clean these and remove label)
-ribbon/twine (any design, any size)
-small sticks or dowel rods (roughly 8-11inches long)
-t-shirts  (any design/print, any size - please make sure they are clean…small stains or holes are fine)
-black shoe polish
-cotton swabs
-metal lids of all sizes (baby food, soup vegetables, pickle jars, bottle caps)
-buttons
-fabric scraps

We hope you can join us in the classroom during this unit!   Please click on one of the class links to see when your child’s class will be working on their upcycling project in the art room.  If you are able to join us, please sign up using this same link.  Be sure to only select the sign-up for your child’s class…they are listed by homeroom teacher.

As always, thank you so much for your help!
